What needs backing up
Identify the email, files, cloud services and other important data that the business would need to recover.
Q10 manages independent backup around the systems in scope, with recovery planning and checks focused on whether important business data can be restored when it matters.
Backup decisions should follow the business data and recovery requirement, not just whatever product happens to be installed.
Identify the email, files, cloud services and other important data that the business would need to recover.
Where appropriate, backups are kept separately from the live service so recovery does not depend entirely on the same platform.
Backup jobs and exceptions are reviewed so failures do not quietly become the recovery plan.
Representative restores and recovery checks help confirm that important data can be retrieved when required.
Under the current managed plans, Q10 includes independent backup of Microsoft 365 data to Australian-hosted storage.
The right backup setup depends on what the business needs back, how quickly and from which systems.
Microsoft provides retention and recovery features, but Q10 does not treat those as a substitute for independently managed backup. The current managed plans include separate backup of Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams data to Australian-hosted storage.
The exact scope depends on the service agreement. Microsoft 365 backup is included in the current managed plans, while endpoint, server or specialist application backup may be included or quoted separately depending on the environment.
Retention depends on the selected backup service and the business requirement. Where longer retention is needed for regulatory, operational or evidentiary reasons, that should be agreed as part of the backup design.
Yes. Q10's approach includes representative restore testing and recovery checks rather than relying only on successful backup-job reports.
Restore time depends on the system, amount of data, type of incident and available infrastructure. Q10 avoids promising one recovery time for every scenario and instead plans around the systems that matter most to the business.
Where the item is covered by the backup and still within the configured retention period, Q10 can perform restores on request within the agreed support scope.
Backup is one recovery layer, not a complete ransomware defence. It works alongside identity, endpoint, email and monitoring controls to reduce the impact of incidents that still affect business data.
We can work through where that data lives today, what is already protected and what recovery would need to look like if the live system was unavailable.
